Frequently Asked Questions
1. What makes Renaissance different?
Skilled Nursing Facilities are the traditional residential option for "patients" with Alzheimer's and related dementias. Renaissance offers a home setting for "residents." Renaissance is a fully licensed Residential Care Facility holding a special Dementia Waiver. Renaissance has 22 residents living in a warm and caring setting.
2. How can I be assured that my relative or friend will be safe, secure and well taken care of?
Renaissance has incorporated a state-of-the-art Wander Guard system. This system will alert staff should a resident leave the facility. In addition, each entrance and exit has alarms and there are fences at each entrance/exit to discourage wandering. Renaissance is a secure facility, not a "lock-down" facility.
3. What is the best way to approach moving my relative or friend into Renaissance?
Don't wait too long! The adjustment will be much easier for your loved one if it is made during the early stages of dementia. Talk to them with honesty. You need to consider their emotions and feelings. They will have many questions and each must be answered carefully. Don't avoid the uncomfortable issues, as they will want honest, factual information before they begin to consider a change in lifestyle.
4. What type of activity program do you have?
We have a variety of activities designed with the individual's interest in mind. We have an activity director and activity assistant who provide a comprehensive program. Eureka Adult Education comes on site to provide cooking, reading, art and music classes. |
